Andrew Powell is the Data Protection Officer for the Bank of England. In that capacity, he has responsibility for advising the Bank on its compliance with privacy and data protection legislation, including the GDPR, and acts as the principal subject matter lead in the Bank’s GDPR Readiness Project, as well providing technical advice on privacy and data protection matters as they arise in respect of the Bank’s broader policy-making and regulatory activity.  He is a member of the cross-Government GDPR Implementation Working Group as well as the EU National Central Bank and Competent Authority Network of Experts on Data Protection.
